Invited by SPD Sachsen, Mahdi Yahya and Aziz Bachouri participated in the 2026 Summer Festival in Dresden, meeting political leaders, civil society representatives, and stakeholders from across Germany to discuss cooperation, social cohesion, and international engagement.

As part of the International Bremen Peace Award program, Mahdi Yahya visited one of Bremen’s innovative arts institutions, where creativity, participation, inclusion, and community engagement come together through educational and artistic programs.

During Bremen Peace Award Week 2026, Mahdi Yahya and Vera Al Mawla engaged students at GSO Bremen in a lively discussion on arts-based peacebuilding, youth leadership, intercultural dialogue, and the realities of working in conflict-affected contexts.

During Bremen Peace Award Week 2026, Mahdi Yahya visited the Chinelo Theaterhaus and Bremen World Theatre Project for a meaningful exchange on the role of art, culture, and dialogue in promoting peace, social cohesion, and intercultural understanding.

Ahead of the International Bremen Peace Award ceremony, Mahdi Yahya joined an official press conference in Bremen to discuss peacebuilding, youth empowerment, intercultural dialogue, and the work of Peace of Art International.

The Arab community in Bremen hosted Mahdi Yahya, recipient of the 2026 Bremen International Peace Award, for an inspiring dialogue on peacebuilding, leadership, integration, youth empowerment, and the future of multicultural communities in Germany.

In September 2018, Mahdi Yahya participated in the International Day of Democracy celebrations at the European Parliament in Brussels, where he engaged with policymakers, civil society leaders, and democracy advocates while representing Peace of Art International and promoting youth participation, dialogue, and peacebuilding.

Mahdi Yahya participated in BEYOND125: Securing Our World’s Digital Future at the Peace Palace in The Hague, joining a select group of 36 international leaders and CEOs in supporting the BEYOND125 Action Plan to strengthen cybersecurity, digital resilience, and the protection of civil society organizations worldwide.

Mahdi Yahya represented Peace of Art International at the SPD Summer Gathering in Dresden, Germany, where he met with Minister Petra Köpping and other stakeholders to discuss peacebuilding, violence prevention, cultural diplomacy, migration, and opportunities for international cooperation between Europe and the Middle East.

During the official opening of MEP Matthias Ecke’s office in Dresden, Germany, Mahdi Yahya represented Peace of Art International and presented a Lebanese olive tree as a symbol of peace and friendship. The meeting highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy, intercultural dialogue, and strengthening relations between Europe and the Middle East.

Mahdi Yahya represented Peace of Art International at the Anna Lindh Foundation Forum 2025 in Tirana, Albania. During the session “Practices of Dialogue: Nurturing Bottom-Up International Cultural Relations,” he shared the organization’s experience in using arts, culture, and youth engagement to strengthen intercultural dialogue, peacebuilding, and social cohesion across the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Mahdi Yahya, Founder and Chairman of Peace of Art International, was featured on the international Peace by Peace platform led by Dr. Anne de Graaf. The feature highlights his journey as a peacebuilder, his work empowering youth through art and dialogue, and his efforts to promote social cohesion and peaceful coexistence in Lebanon and beyond.

During the seventh edition of the Youth Leadership Program supported by UNDP, Mahdi Yahya shared his experience in leadership, peacebuilding, and community engagement with emerging young leaders. His session focused on capacity building, human rights, active citizenship, and the role of youth in driving sustainable development and positive social change.

On 27 October 2020, Mahdi Yahya facilitated a workshop in Dresden, Germany, focusing on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and political engagement among young migrants. Organized in partnership with ARBEIT UND LEBEN Sachsen, the event explored how art, culture, and civic participation can contribute to social inclusion, community resilience, and peaceful coexistence.

On 9 October 2019, Peace of Art International was recognized among the Top Ten Humanitarian Initiatives in the Arab and European regions during the Arab-German Dialogue Award in Berlin. During the event, founder Dr. Mahdi Yahya presented the organization’s vision, achievements, and innovative approach to peacebuilding through art, education, youth leadership, and community engagement.

In March 2019, Mahdi Yahya and Vera Mawla facilitated the “Arts and Culture in Peace-Building” workshop during ROTA’s EMPOWER 2019 Youth Conference in Doha, Qatar. The session explored how artistic expression, cultural initiatives, and youth engagement can contribute to peacebuilding, social cohesion, human rights, and sustainable development across the Arab region.

On 18 September 2018, Mahdi Yahya, Founder of Peace of Art International, spoke at the European Parliament in Brussels during the International Day of Democracy. Representing youth and civil society from Lebanon, he highlighted the power of art, dialogue, and civic engagement as tools for promoting peace and combating violence, discrimination, and sectarianism. His participation brought the experiences of grassroots peacebuilding initiatives in the Middle East to one of Europe’s most important democratic institutions.
