Young people have been central to Mahdi’s work since the founding of Peace of Art. In this topic, he speaks about empowering youth as active citizens, community leaders, peacebuilders, and changemakers. He explores how education, mentorship, civic participation, and creative expression can help young people shape the future of their societies.

Mahdi speaks about the importance of democratic culture, civic responsibility, and inclusive participation, especially in societies facing instability and distrust. His perspective is shaped by grassroots experience, international leadership programs, and his participation at the European Parliament during the International Day of Democracy.

Mahdi believes that diversity should be a source of strength rather than division. In this topic, he explores how intercultural and interreligious dialogue can build bridges, reduce prejudice, strengthen coexistence, and create shared spaces for understanding and cooperation.

Peace of Art began with the belief that art can be a universal language for peace. The Future of Peacebuilding

Mahdi addresses the future of peacebuilding in a rapidly changing world. He speaks about the need for new models that connect local action with international cooperation, combine dialogue with practical community support, and empower emerging leaders to respond to complex social, political, environmental, and humanitarian challenges.

Invited to speak at the European Parliament during activities marking the International Day of Democracy, Mahdi contributed to discussions on youth participation, civic engagement, democratic values, and the role of grassroots initiatives in creating positive social change.

Selected as a panelist at the Anna Lindh Foundation Forum, bringing together participants from across the Euro-Mediterranean region. His contributions focused on the transformative power of arts and culture, intercultural dialogue, and the role of cultural diplomacy in peacebuilding and international cooperation.

Co-facilitated the workshop “Arts and Culture in Peacebuilding” for young leaders from across the Arab world, sharing the Peace of Art experience and exploring how creativity, civic engagement, and community initiatives can contribute to sustainable peace and social development at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar.

Invited speaker in the Civil Society Dialogue Programme, where he presented Peace of Art’s experience in promoting a culture of peace through arts, education, dialogue, and community engagement.

Featured speaker in an international discussion entitled “Communication, Arts and Peacebuilding in Lebanon,” sharing experiences, challenges, and lessons learned from grassroots peacebuilding initiatives and community-based approaches to dialogue.

Delivered workshops and training sessions for youth, migrants, and community leaders on topics including democratic participation, civic engagement, leadership development, peacebuilding, and the German political system in cooperation with educational and civic institutions.

Presented Peace of Art as one of the selected leading humanitarian and social initiatives from the Arab and European regions during events associated with the German-Arab Dialogue Award, engaging with academic, institutional, and civil society audiences.

Represented Lebanon and participated in regional and international leadership initiatives, including programs supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Mara Foundation, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), and other organizations working to strengthen youth leadership, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and democratic participation.

Over the years, Mahdi has participated in numerous lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and public conversations across Lebanon, Germany, and international platforms, addressing themes such as peacebuilding, intercultural dialogue, youth leadership, community resilience, civil society development, and the future of democracy.
