Speaking at the European Parliament: Youth, Democracy, and Civic Engagement

In 2018, Mahdi Yahya was invited to speak at the European Parliament as part of the International Day of Democracy. Drawing on his experience as founder of Peace of Art, he addressed the importance of youth participation, active citizenship, and community-led initiatives in advancing democratic values and social cohesion.

The presentation highlighted the role of young people as drivers of positive change and explored how education, civic engagement, dialogue, and cultural initiatives can contribute to building more inclusive and resilient communities.
